“The Social Network” – how much is fact and how much is fiction? Girls in Tech NYC invites you to a live interview with David Kirkpatrick, acclaimed technology journalist and author of the book, "The Facebook Effect.”

Already hailed as a tour de force, “The Social Network” is an instant hit with an estimated $23 million box office. But since the opening weekend, more than a few media personalities have voiced their concerns over the movie’s dramatic portrayal of the Website’s history and co-founder Mark Zuckerberg. So what’s the real story behind the social networking site that’s changed all our lives?

Mashable’s Lauren Indvik will interview Kirkpatrick on his perspective on the real history of Facebook’s creation, its impact and the future of mass media. For over a year and half, Kirkpatrick was given exclusive access to Zuckerberg, his inner circle and a number of top Facebook employees.
